Bio: I have been an NHS dentist for 40 years and involved in the training of young dentists, I enjoy all aspects of dentistry and if I had my choice of occupation, I would do the same again. Out with dentistry I enjoy keeping fit especially cycling in the summer. I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and as much as possible I will holiday in Majorca and spending time on my boat. 

Name: Stacey Owens

Bio: I have worked at Macaulay dental Practice since September 1998. From August 1999 until June 2000, I attended Telford College where I qualified as a Dental Nurse September 2000 over the next few years, I have done an Advance Implantology course for dental nursing and in august 2013 I received a certificate in Dental Radiography. When not at work I enjoy hill walking and exercising.

Bio: I started with the practice in February 1999, I attended Telford college the same year and qualified in Dental Nursing in 2001. I then Received my certificate for Dental Radiographs in 2002. Over the next few years, I enjoyed working with the team. In 2010 I received my certificate in Childsmile. In my spare time I Enjoy cleaning and spending time with my 9 year old Daughter. I also enjoy watching a good crime drama and l love listening to 80s music, I am also known to be competitive in music quizzes.

Bio: I Have been a part of the dental team since August 2013, qualifying as a dental nurse in January 2015 at Coatbridge College, then going on to gaining my certificate in Childsmile in 2018. I am currently studying towards getting my certificate in taking Dental Radiographs and due to sit my final exam in march. In my spare time I spend most my time with my 2 year old daughter and occasionally meeting up with friends. I also enjoy keeping fit and exercising

Bio: I Graduated from the University of Dundee in 2011 and joined the practice that summer. I am now a joint vocational trainer with Alison Macaulay and have enjoyed with newly qualified dentists for the past 5 years. I also am a qualified provider of Adult short term orthodontics – both Invisalign and Quick Straight Teeth. In my spare time I enjoy going to dog shows with my 7 Pugs and Chow Chow.

Bio: I graduated in dentistry from Glasgow 8 years ago but I have actually been in the practice a lot longer having started in reception and nursing when I was 16 so I have now officially been at the practice for half my life this year and love it here. My main interest is helping people with a pain free dentistry as possible. I do like seeing the results of smile makeovers with composite bonding, veneers and crowns. I have also completed my implant training at the BAIRD course in Leeds so I am looking forward to getting started with that. Outside of work I like spending time with family and friends, I like to keep fit and watching and playing football. I like to get out and see new places in the world and since lockdown I have found a new love for the north of Scotland and have joined the Munro walking trend.

Bio: I have worked at Macaulay dental Practice since 2016, Before qualifying as a dental Hygiene therapist I qualified as a dental Nurse in 2006 and wanted to progress in my career as I have a special interest in helping children overcome their fear of the dentist. In my spare time I look after my 4 year old son and dog. I also enjoy going on holidays.

Bio: I have been at the practice since June 2022 and I am loving it, I am currently studying towards gaining my dental nurse qualification at Coatbridge college. outside work I enjoy going to the gym and family walks with my family and dogs.

Name: Dr David Chan
Role: Dentist

Bio: David started working at the Macaulay Dental Practice in 2018, in a part-time capacity limited to placing and restoring of dental implants.  After graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1987, he worked in different parts of Scotland and London, carrying out a large number of dental sedations, wisdom tooth extractions and advanced dental implant restorations. He gained his MSc in Implant Dentistry, after 3 years of further postgraduate study at the University of Warwick.  He was appointed as an honorary teacher and an MSc supervisor at the same university till 2019.  He mentors other dentists in the placement and restoration of dental implants and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of England by examination in 2013.  Due to his broad experience, David has a calm and confident approach in treating all his patients. He speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay.
